I’ve obviously had a thoughtful week and this poem is the result. Okay it’s depressing but when I post this poem on my blog I’ll feel a lot better. It will be like getting something nasty out of my system. Enjoy!
My heart can’t say sorry enough
Oh pray forgive me sweet love
Hurt you in so many unkind ways
All I have are these clumsy words
They’re surely not a perfect apology
It was a misjudged own folly I admit
Violent anguish I’m holding deep within
Suffering has no proper place to end
Life doesn’t give enough time for recovery
The nights are too long and lonely
Daylight most often arrives before I fall into sleep
Want as much as I can say to hold you near
Upheaval inside when the dream was over
Gave up crying because the well is almost dry
Salty tears only serve to burn my eyes
Melancholy wounds take years to close
Don’t believe we’ll ever laugh again
I write from a grieving heart
Can’t say sorry enough.
All around the world girls are prevented from getting an education and when they do they are often taught wrong things. Vefday is aspiring to change this sad situation by promoting the use of good language and words. This is a day of celebration. Gender equality can be achieved resulting in social equality.
