Are girls an afterthought?
If you think about it carefully Vef is more than just a word to replace woman. Vef is an attempt to rewrite human history, even the word human can be rewritten as huvef. Or humanity can become huvefity. Vef gives us a choice, an option. Firstly let’s remember where we all came from. Yes a girl did indeed give birth to you and every one of us owe our lives to a female. I personally do prefer to use the word Vef to describe an adult female because it takes away any gender bias or religious connotations that woman has. Woman does not come from a man’s rib as is proclaimed by Christian belief. In fact the opposite situation is true.
Up until now all words in the English language that refer to the feminine gender have a male element to them or at the very least they are not words of equal value. All words that are important to man have three letters and the reason for this is easy to explain. The number three relates to the holy trinity – father, son and holy spirit. But what about girls, aren’t they part of this world? Interesting that even the word girl has four and not three letters. The word boy has three letters.
I really prefer not to get myself into heated debate about the pros and cons of Vef. I’ve spent the best part of a decade studying in great detail both the words vef and woman. I’m satisfied that vef is the most plausible word to inevitably replace woman. Vef is a three-letter word for a good reason, to place equal importance on girls. By the way I don’t like the word female either, but lets just take one word at a time. Vef is a word specifically designed to bring us together equally.
So I wish you a happy celebration on this beautiful day – October 31st
